What can you do to change your court day?

If you would like to change your court day, you do have to be present in court on your own. It's very simple and it's your constitutional right to request a reset of thirty days. All you need to do is that when you appear in court and sign in your name, you mentioned to either the bailiff or to the solicitor or district attorney, that you have talked to an attorney, and while you have not yet paid them or signed up with them, that you do want to hire Rohan law to represent you.

Normally, they will show you the new date on a piece of paper, take it with you, and you'll be on your way. Some judges are old school. Some judges like to make a show out of it because this is an opportunity to show everybody else in the gallery some important information. Like not waiting until the last minute to hire an attorney or taking it seriously and making sure that you actually follow through with the process. If that happens, don't worry about it, shrug it off. It's not a big deal.

They really aren't talking to you as much as they're talking to the rest of the people in the gallery who think they don't need an attorney. So whatever the judge wants to say, even if they want to throw us under the bus for saying that we should have been there. That's fine. We understand it as we've been doing this for twenty years. Just go ahead and get your new piece of paper, walk out of the court, and send us a copy right away. We want to be with you and we want to stand by you with this process.
