DAVID SCHAEFER

Associate Criminal Defense Attorney

David brings decades of nonprofit, government affairs, and legal experience to Rohan Law. Georgia-raised, he grew up in an Argentine-American family and graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2006. Immediately after graduation, David worked for firms focused on immigration, criminal defense, and bankruptcy law. He also served as a paralegal in Georgia prisons where he assisted detained persons with their sentences, convictions, and conditions of confinement.

While earning his master’s degree at the University of Georgia, David met his future wife, a native of Venezuela and university professor. They have a son, who loves music, and will likely choose a professional road quite different from that of his parents. At the local level, David has served in a number of volunteer roles, including on the boards of the Latin American Association, Atlanta (now Georgia) Audubon, and the Gwinnett Coalition. 

As a Jesus follower, he is also active in his church and seeks to fulfill the calling of Micah 6:8 to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

Fluent in Spanish and English and proficient in other languages, David strives to help clients build a better future by caring for individuals who have been negatively impacted by uncaring systems..
